For an exceptional career in Cardiology and Biomedical Engineering. He is Associate Division Chief at Johns Hopkins. He is a Diplomat with the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Your work has been cited over 2,000 times, and you’ve worked not only in the WSU system but also as Director of the Woodland Park Zoo and as the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges’ liaison to the Association of Public Land-Grant Universities. As Dean of the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine, you led the college to be ranked first among United States veterinary colleges in attracting Department of Agriculture funding and third for overall federal funding. You saw the college through its greatest period of physical growth and expansion, all while increasing the student population and providing them with more hands-on training through Humane Society Partnerships. You expanded biomedical research, oversaw the creation of the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health, created the new School of Molecular Biosciences, developed the first Teaching Academy at a vet school, implemented the WIMU program, helped to secure a $23 million appropriation allowing WSU to be the new home for a state-of-the-art Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab, and assisted in the building of two premier research facilities -- the Veterinary Biomedical Research Building and the Paul G. Allen Center for Global Animal Health. With a consistent focus on what is best for WSU, you also agreed to step into the role of Interim Provost to continue to serve the WSU community. In recognition of your numerous contributions to WSU since you graduated and while serving as president of the WSU Alumni Association, the WSUAA is pleased to present you with its highest honor, the Alumni Achievement Award. From the moment you became an alumna, you used your intellect, skills, and passion to help make WSU stronger. From guiding your sorority through a major chapter-house renovation, to crafting new bylaws for the WSUAA, to serving as a trustee of the WSU Foundation, to serving on the WSUAA Board of Directors and as WSUAA president, you have made a significant and lasting impact in every role you have served. As the driving force behind the Women’s Leadership Summit, you conceived of and provided an important platform for WSU alumnae to speak openly and honestly about the challenges they and others have faced and overcome as women. Your many contributions helped make this the most influential virtual event the WSUAA has hosted. You have helped the WSUAA build and strengthen relationships with various WSU constituents and cast a positive light on the association for its partners on and off campus to see.
