Eugene G. “Pat” Patterson, a Pullman native and WSU graduate, served as alumni director for 26 years. A visionary leader, he established the WSU Scholarship and Development Fund, which raised more than $12 million in endowed, capital, and annual gifts. As a state legislator, he proved to be a strong voice for higher education, including WSU and agriculture. Pat always gratefully acknowledged the countless alumni who represented and supported WSU, and it is in his honor that in turn we honor the many celebrated alumni of Washington State University.
